When suing a teen in a CIVIL case, does it go to court?

Or a hearing?

I have court cases in my 11th grade government and one is about a teenager not doing the whole job he was contracted to do when hired by a cash-in-hand employer. Would this go to court with a plaintiff and defendant and all? When suing a teen in a CIVIL case, does it go to court?
It could, but sometimes these cases are settled before it actually goes to court. Somebody has to given in and negotiate. When suing a teen in a CIVIL case, does it go to court?
A civil or small claims? They are simular except Civil cases have a more formal procedure and lawyers are used. Also you can sue for alot more in civil. This sounds like a Dept. of Labor issue. A minor being contracted? Cash pay.
Minors cannot contract, but they are often taken to civil court.
You can't sue a minor.
