An apartment complex is trying to say that I owe them money for a carpet replacement from back in 2005. It's a bogus claim anyway because I have a paper signed by the manager saying I owe nothing. They haven't even tried to contact me for at least 2 1/2 years. I was just wondering if they could still try and sue me or has the time expired for them to do that.Does anyone know what the statute of limitations is in Washington state for civil cases?
6 years for a contract dispute. If it's small claims it probably would be a year or two, that just depends on the amount and the court where he is filing.Does anyone know what the statute of limitations is in Washington state for civil cases?
You have a paper signed by the manager saying you owe nothing. You have nothing to worry about.
If they want money, it's the managers responsibility to pay for it, because he/she said you don't owe anything.
