What kind of civil case would I have?

I left my belongings with my brother (i.e. clothes, musical instruments, cd's etc..) so I can move out of state in agreement that he would store them for me until I was ready to pick them up. Now, come to find out he's sold most of my things without my permission. What kind of civil case would I have against him? What kind of civil case would I have?
Well you could go to a small claims and request the value of the items. It depends how long it is ago, if it is a super duper long time ago you most likely won't get anywhere, if it is something relatively recent, you could. Please think about if the relationship to your brother isn't more valuable than the items... You don't want to mess up the relationship with your family. What kind of civil case would I have?
In essence he has stolen these items from you, which is an offence, he has then sold the items for monetary gain, which translates as fraudulent conversion, and that is a second offence. You need to speak to a lawyer to see if you have a chance of any sort of compensation via the courts, assuming of course that he has no intention of paying you the money he has made through the sale of the items.
