Where can you look up court (criminal and civil) cases for free?

need to be able to type in the name and stateWhere can you look up court (criminal and civil) cases for free?
Bug %26amp; Monkey -- did point you in a general direction and it will be helpful.

But you should know the vast majority of trial cases are not put on-line or even typed. Cost. Cases that are appealed are avaiable once they are filed at an appeallant level court.

Look at your State's websites for the courts in question.Where can you look up court (criminal and civil) cases for free?
For local civil cases, go to your court house prothonatary office or equivalent. You will need the case number to look it up, and some counties have that info online. The information is public and you will be able to look at it unless the judge has it in chambers.

For criminal cases, also ask at your court house to see files on that person, which should be public unless it concerns a minor.
Wisconsin has Open Court Records ... but I am not sure about the other states ...

I would just google it ... here is an example of what I type in to Google ...

';Wisconsin Open Court Records';

Then the page comes up and asks for identifying information like the persons name (first middle last) - birth-date ... you can even search by county or city ...

Just fill in as much information as you have - I usually find what I am looking for by just searching first and last name

Good Luck! Hope this helps! :)
