I know way more about criminal law than civil law and I'm not entirely sure about the public defenders and how that whole thing works when it comes to divorce.Do public defenders also cover civil cases such as divorce?
all depends in..... what the specialize in.......
ask them...... they know what they do.... and don't do.Do public defenders also cover civil cases such as divorce?
Why for some reason will the 'show me next question' button not let me leave this question?
So here is my answer. More than likely they CAN defend both but typically attorneys choose a specific path to go down, ex. a paper lawyer, a divorce lawyer, a child lawyer etc.
Now let me go to the next question, YAHOO
No public defenders are no civil court lawyers that is why they care called DEFENDERS the DEFEND criminal cases.
A ';civil'; or divorce lawyer is a ';Family court'; lawyer.
No. Public defenders are assigned to criminal defendants who can't afford representation. They do not handle civil matters.
public defenders dont do civil or family law. only criminal. however if you dont have money you can get legal aid at the courthouse. lower filing fees etc.
There is no public defender in a divorce petition. You each hire your own lawyer to represent you.
Go down to Office Depot and spend a whopping $29. No, welfare lawyers don't do divorces.
